Daniels and Buzbee Out For Season; Jason Taylor Joins The Burgundy and Gold!

Holy crap, the first day of Training Camp turned out to be a doozie.
 
Phillip Daniels tore his ACL on the first play of 7 on 7's in this morning's practice and is out for the year. Shortly thereafter, backup Alex Buzbee ruptured his achilles and is also lost for the year. Suddenly, the fact that The Redskins only drafted one DE rose like an Orange and Teal spectre on the horizon. What to do? What to do...
 
I know, let's trade for Jason Taylor!
 
And before dinner was even out of the oven, Jason Taylor was sent packing to Washington by The Tuna. The cost? One second round pick ('09) and one sixth rounder as well ('10). And $8.1 million (Taylor's salary this year). Good thing The Redskins were about $9 million under the cap.
 
In other news, Fred Smoot sprained his ankle and will be out for about a week. No word yet on if there are any players who made it through day #1 without any injuries.
 
So the big question is: What jersey number is Jason Taylor going to wear? Think Andre Carter is going to give up the #99? Aaron suggested #00. That would be pretty badass, I think. Dudes, think about it - we now have Andre Carter and Jason Taylor rushing the passer at the same time...Eli's gonna poop his pants!

Phillip Daniels out.

Dudes. It's still early, there are conflicting reports, but according to David Elfin from the Washington Times, he has confirmed that Phillip Daniels has torn an ACL in a practice this morning . To make matters worse, backup defensive lineman Alex Buzbee had injured his ankle this afternoon.

There are already rumors floating around the web that the 'Skins are now seeking a trade for dancing with the stars own Jason Taylor. That trade would likely be costly for the team, but at this point seems a viable option.

Aaron, Josh, and John only have one thing to say... "I told you, I told you". We said the 'Skins should have drafted some high defensive linemen and it didn't happen. Now we could be in trouble...

****UPDATE 5:52pm*****

Alex Buzbee ruptured his achilles tendon and is out for the season.  According to ESPN's John Clayton, Redskins could make deal with Dolphins for Taylor within the next 24 hours.
